Tarsicius

Tarsicius
(third/fourth century)
   Legendary Saint.
Tarsicius is said to have been martyred by a pagan mob while he was carrying the consecrated bread of the Eucharist. He accepted death rather than allow the host to be defiled. In 1920, a fraternity in his name was approved. This fosters devotion to the Eucharist.
